Candle Care
THE FIRST BURN
When lighting for the first time, be sure to let the wax melt across the entire surface up to the sides of the vessel. This ensures an even burn for the duration of the candles life. This can take between 2-4 hours but we promise it will make your candle last longer.
TRIM YOUR WICKS
The importance of trimming your wick before each burn is crucial to having a high performance candle that looks and smells great.
An untrimmed wick can cause black smoke, curling of the wick and a flickering flame which are all detrimental to a long life burning candle.
If your candle shows any signs of these, extinguish your candle, allow to cool, trim your wick and re burn.
KEEP THE WAX CLEAN
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
DON’T BURN ALL THE WAY DOWN
Although tempting to burn your candle all the way down til there is no wax in sight it can be quite dangerous.
Allow no less than 10 mm of wax at the bottom of the vessel as the flame needs a solid base of wax to avoid overheating the glass jar.
HOW TO EXTINGUISH A CANDLE
Extinguish candle with a snuffer, or dip the wick into the melted wax and then straighten wick to prevent smoking and also prevent hot wax from splattering. Do not blow out.
MAXIMIZE YOUR SCENT THROW
Keeping windows and doors closed whilst burning will really extenuate your candles fragrance
HOW TO CLEAN CANDLES
Your can remove dust and fingerprints from a candle by gently rubbing the surface with a piece of nylon or a soft cloth. The cloth can be dry or slightly dampened with water
